Our exciting tour shall start at the pier of your cruise ship. We shall drive through typical, rich Norwegian farm land to the Hadeland Glassworks, which is beautifully situated in Jevnaker, just slightly more than an hour’s drive north of Oslo, in idyllic surroundings at the southern tip of the lake Randsfjord. The glass factory was founded in 1762, and it is the oldest industrial company in Norway that can claim continuous operation since its foundation.
Arriving at Hadeland a guided tour of the factory shall start. When the factory was established, Norway did not have the necessary skilled craftsmen at that time, and these were brought in, principally from Germany.  The first production consisted mainly of bottles, chemists’ jars, medicine containers, and items of household glass. However, in 1852 Ole Chr. Berg took charge, and the company underwent dramatic development and production was redefined to include smaller crystal items, everything from wine glasses to bowls, dishes and various types of vases.   After watching the glassblowers practice their traditional art, there is time to walk around. The whole area surrounding the glassworks resembles a small, pleasant country village. The eight shops welcome you to shop at factory prices, or just browse around.  Enjoy lunch at a lovely local hotel dining room. .
On our return trip to the city we shall drive up Sollihøgda, which offers picturesque views of Tyrifjord Lake, Norway’s fifth largest, and then continue down the hills until we reach the motorway back to Oslo.
Our last stop shall be at the impressive and totally unforgettable Vigeland Sculpture Park, the lifetime legacy of Gustav Vigeland to the city of Oslo. The park contains 192 monumental sculptures with more than 600 figures, all modeled in full size by Gustav Vigeland, without any assistance of pupils or other artists, in bronze and granite focusing on the cycles of life and death. Vigeland also designed the entire architectural setting and the layout of the grounds. Some of the main features are the iron gates, the bridge, the fountain, the huge monolith of human figures, and the circle of life. Our guide will walk you through the park from one side to the other telling the stories of the sculptures along the way.  - The memory of your visit to the Vigeland Park shall stay in your mind for ever.

Our tour ends with a drive through the city centre of Oslo.
