TOUR H-3: HELSINKI PANORAMA & LUNCH WITH A FINNISH FAMILY

Note: This is a totally private tour operated exclusively for you, for your family, or for your own private party or group upon request.

Starting time: You may decide yourself the most convenient time for you at the time of booking. Operated on Sundays and National Holidays only upon request. 
Transportation: By a private car, van, or motor coach depending on the number of seats required.
Activity level: Easy and relaxed. This is an enjoyable and relaxed tour, and you may control the speed and progress. The amount of walking depends on you. Perfectly suitable for wheelchair passengers.
Major sites and inside admissions included:  The highlight of the tour is naturally the family luncheon and the private time spent with your host family, and the famous sites of Helsinki you shall also enjoy:  the downtown area, the Mannerheim Street, the Senate Square with the Big Cathedral, the Opera House, the National Museum, the Parliament Building, Kiasma Museum of Modern Art, Finlandia Hall, Railway Station, and many others.

ITINERARY:
Our tour offers a unique opportunity to visit and to make contact with a typical Finnish family at their home, and enjoy their hospitality. If anything, this is reaching out, and building bridges across the borders, nationalities and different languages.
You shall visit your host family, who has invited you to their home, and while the hostess is preparing the lunch, you will have an opportunity to discuss about mutually interesting topics, learn about the life, education, retirement, different professions, work and leisure, even compare the governmental medical insurances, or you may share stories of children and grand children, or tell about your own life in your country. If you do not find a mutual language, your guide will be the mediator. Do not be shy, just ask any question you may think of. That is the way it is supposed to be. Many lasting family friendships have been started this way.
The visit normally lasts about 2 hours, and sometimes – pending on the weather and the type of their home  – the host may serve the  lunch in the garden or back yard, so for that possibility, please, take a warm sweater with you. The summers in the Baltic region are short, so the Finns try to make the maximum out of it, and enjoy the summer in their backyards.
After the lunch and our farewell, but prior to returning to the ship, our program will continue with an introduction tour of Helsinki covering the most famous and popular sites,  including the Sibelius Monument, the Mannerheim Street area, the Opera House, the Parliament Building, the Finlandia Hall (Designed by Alvar Aalto), the Kiasma, the Museum of Modern Art, the classic Senate Square with the dominating Lutheran Cathedral, the Market Square and the harbor area and more. All sites will be outside visits only, however, many photo stops shall be provided.
