The Itinerary:
Our 5-hour tour departs from the port passing through typical Danish villages and wooded, undulating countryside to the town of Hillerød, where an inside  visit is paid to Frederiksborg Castle. In addition to its own delicate beauty, this Renaissance building is also most attractively situated in the nature. Like so many other castles of the era, also this one was built by the orders of King Christian IV (ruled 1588-1648). The castle is considered to be the most beautiful one in Denmark, and it is unique for the reason that it occupies three islands. Today, Frederiksborg is the home of the Museum of National History, the collection of which includes priceless paintings, silver and porcelain items, furniture and tapestries. We shall tour the castle’s King’s Wing and the famous Knights’ Hall, and also the Chapel House, which houses Denmark’s oldest organ from 1610. We shall also stop by the Neptune Fountain.

From Frederiksborg our tour continues to the direction of Helsingør, and on the way we shall pass the  Fredensborg Palace, built in 1722. The palace is the Spring and Autumn residence of the Danish Royal Family, and the permanent residence of the Crown Prince or Princess of Denmark. A brief photo stop shall be made here (no admission is allowed to the palace).

Again our tour shall continue, and upon arrival in Helsingør we shall visit the imposing Kronborg Castle, which was built in early 1400’s, long before Columbus even dreamt of America. The castle obtained worldwide fame after William Shakespeare made it the scene of his play, “Hamlet”, the dramatic masterpiece of an unhappy Danish prince.

After Kronborg we shall drive back to Copenhagen, but this time along the coastal road, passing through small villages, fashionable resorts and some exclusive residential areas.  It shall be an enjoyable ride. – Our exciting tour shall terminate at the port.
